Shelby Madison Long, 93, of Millington, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He was born January 9, 1924 in Thaxton, Mississippi. Shelby proudly served his country in WWII as a member of the Navy. He was a devout member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Arlington, Tennessee until his passing.

Shelby was the final surviving sibling of three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his two daughters: Debra (KG) Guity and Donna Long. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Michelle (Ben) Bowser, Kimberly (Nathan) Pappas, and Dustin Gutelius and two great grandchildren: Luke and Shelby Bowser. Shelby was loved by many extended family members, church family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nelda Long, and grandchild, Chris Morgan.

Funeral arrangements will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East (2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133). The visitation will begin at 1:30 pm with the funeral following at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, Arlington, TN or the charity of donor's choice.
