Sherry Ann Wright

November 26, 1949 – June 8, 2021

Sherry Ann Wright, 71 of Memphis, TN went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 8, 2021; she passed peacefully at her home.

Sherry is survived by one son and daughter in law, Jerry and Dawn Woten of Spring Hill, TN; five grandchildren, Destini Acheson of Memphis, TN; Justin Woten of St. Louis, MO; Kayla Woten of Spring Hill, TN; Cody Woten of Nashville, TN; Camryn Woten of Spring Hill, TN.  She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters and host of nieces/nephews, Larry Newcomb of Jackson, MS, Ricky Newcomb of Bartlett, TN, Beverley Burkhalter of Memphis, TN, and Rhonda Newcomb of Memphis, TN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Worley and Lilly Newcomb, her husband Russell Wright, and her beloved daughter Jessica Wright.

Sherry enjoyed a simple but rewarding life.  She loved her family; she will be missed by everyone who knew her, namely her siblings as they shared an indescribable bond.  Taking care of her children and granddaughter, Destini, was always her number one priority.  Her generosity was contagious; she always stepped up to help others in need.  At times she probably thought she didn't do enough in life, but that would be remotely inaccurate as her legacy lives on.

Family visitation will be on Thursday, June 10 between 5:00pm-7:00pm, with funeral services to follow on Friday, June 11 at 10:00am.  Both events will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home-East, 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis TN, 38133.
