IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirlee Edith
Jolly
June 3, 1930 – March 26, 2024
Shirlee Edith Jolly, Memphis, Tennessee, 93 years old, went home to be with our Lord on March 26, 2024 after a brief illness. Shirlee was born in Cushing, Oklahoma and came to know her Lord and Savior at a young age. She attended school in Columbus, Ohio and later moved to Memphis. Shirlee met John Jolly at a Youth for Christ Rally. They were later married at Trinity Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. John was a Minister of Music in several Baptist churches across the South and Southwest enabling Shirlee to sing in the choirs and play the piano for services. Shirlee also directed many children's choirs and often taught the young married Sunday school class. Her joy and love for the Lord was contagious and she was a blessing to everyone.
Shirlee was also a lecturer for many years at Weight Watchers and retired her working career at Helena Chemical Company. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Erma Baum and her husband John Jolly.
She leaves behind her sister Erma Lee McMinn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, son, Mike (Anita) from North Georgia, daughter, Michelle from Memphis, son, Jeff (Carolyn) from Arlington, Tennessee, along with three grandsons and six great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the members of Crossroads Baptist Church for their love and support.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM at Crossroads Baptist Church immediately followed by a celebration of life service.
