Shirley J. (Crabdree) Bast, age 87, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, in Southaven, Mississippi.
Mrs. Bast, daughter of Faye L. Stubblefield, was born on November 20, 1934, in Union Township, Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. She married Donald Earl Bast on July 9, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 6th, 2003. She was active within the Singleton Community Center of Arts, wherein she honed her artistic skills and achieved several awards for her artwork.
Shirley enjoyed bird watching, but was foremost a hummingbird enthusiast. She also was an active member of several senior bowling leagues. Her favorite pastime was traveling with her best friend and husband, Don.
Shirley Bast is survived by Dr. Michael E. Bast and his wife, Melanie, of Hernando, Mississippi, three granddaughters; Kathryn (Bast) Manus, (husband Clint Manus), Kindall (Bast) Henfling, and Kimberly (Bast) Dawson, (husband Jeremy Dawson), and six great-grandchildren; Wyatt Manus (age 10), Madison Manus (age 5), Oliver Henfling (age 6), Brady Wright (age 14 mos.), Leighton Dawson (age 22 mos.), and Noah Dawson (due in October).
Our Shirley was beloved by many and a stranger to none.
We will take comfort in knowing we'll see her again "If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise".
