Shirley Jean Cathey, 86, of Drummonds, TN passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born on December 30, 1937 to parents Wilburn Sr. and Addie Wilson. Shirley married the love of her life in 1956, and they remained married for 69 years until her passing. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Millington, TN. Some things Shirley enjoyed were doing crossword puzzles and playing card games, her favorite was the game rook. She loved John Wayne, and she watched his movies so much that she knew them all word for word. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings: Leon, Doris, Wilburn Jr., Mary, and Jimmy. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, John F. Cathey, her 4 sons: Perry, Troy, Gene, and Garry Cathey, her 26 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Shirley will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss her more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Alzheimer's Association of Memphis, and Youth Villages, formally known as Boys Town.
