Obituary

Shirley Maxine Smith, 84, danced her way into her heavenly home on January 8, 2022 at her daughter's home surrounded by family.  She graduated from Central High School and was a homemaker all her life.  She loved sewing and made both her daughters' wedding gowns, and her love of cross-stitching allowed her to win first and second place at the fair.  She was a member of Christ Church Bartlett, and always looked forward to Bible study and going on church trips.  Shirley was a huge traveler - going to 48 states with her husband Tony in their motor home over their 23.5-year marriage.  She also traveled to Israel, Paris, Florence, Venice, and Rome, and enjoyed taking pictures to share with others.  She loved spending time with her two daughters: taking a trip to the last two states with Sharon and going on a 7-day cruise with Donna.  She often played games with friends on Friday nights, and spent many years dancing.  She loved round and square dancing - where she met her husband Tony - and later learned ballroom dancing.  Her family was most important to her, so she made home videos and went on cruises with them. She had a fun and happy life.

She leaves two daughters: Donna (Danny) Freeman and Sharon (Scott) Jones, and four grandchildren: Amanda (Daniel) Brown, Aubrey (Jon) Tilson, Nick (Morgan) Jones, and Kyle (Katelin) Jones.  She had nine great-grandchildren: Jack and Isabella Brown, Harper, Brodie, Madelyn, and Ross Tilson, Bella and Sutton Jones, and Garner Jones.

She also leaves behind a half-sister, Janie (Tim) Spence and half-brother Michael Wilson. She had two step-children: Tanya (Mark) Matta and Tony Allan (Mary) Smith, and four grandchildren: Melissa (Scott) Ingle, Mark A (Michelle) Matta, Tony Ray and Jessie Walters. She had five great-grandchildren: Walter,  Charlotte,  Olivia, Oliver and Archie.

Preceded in death by her husband Aulcie (Tony) Smith, parents Hazel and Woody Hall; father, Herman Wilson; and an adopted brother, William "Bill" Scott Hall.
