Sonia C. Hicks, 68, of Memphis, Tennessee, departed this earth to be with the Lord on December 9, 2025.

Born on January 24, 1957, to the late James V. and E. Verneal Hicks, Sonia was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Elliston Baptist Academy's Class of 1975, Sonia continued her education at the University of Memphis and Southwest Community College. She earned her degree as a Radiology Technician, a profession she practiced with dedication and compassion at St. Francis Hospital until her retirement.

A woman of faith, Sonia was a devoted member of Fisherville Baptist Church. Her life was a testament to her love for her family and her hobbies. She was an avid traveler, a passionate shopper, and a collector of bells, commemorative plates, and music boxes. Above all, she cherished her cat, Gizmo, and reveled in spoiling her nieces and nephews.

Sonia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Stanley Hicks, and his wife, Donna; three nephews, Cory Hicks (Tegan), Joshua Hicks (Ashley), and Collin Hicks (Hayley); several great-nieces and great-nephews, Karley, Kaitlin, Kellan, Aviya, Skylar, Jack, Molly, Finn, Charlotte, and Rachel; and her beloved cat, Gizmo.

Sonia's warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
