Obituary

Stanley Houston Hicks, 64, of Williston Tn ( as he would say technically Macon, TN but the post office closed), has departed from this earth to be with our Loving God on December 23,2025.

He was born on January 23, 1961 to the late James Vernon And Edith Verneal Hicks, Stan was a light in this world to all that knew him.

A proud graduate and Salutatorian of Ellison Baptist Academy Class of 1979, he then attended Mississippi State University and continued to be a bulldog fan for life. He showed his love for his university through being a member of the Mississippi Spirit Squads as a Cheerleader.

In early adulthood, Stanley obtained his A&P license in Birmingham to then build an exceptional aviation career with FedEx. He recently retired from FedEx after 43 successful and impactful years as an Aircraft Mechanic Manager.

Stan was a man of faith and provided a love deeper than most get to have. He always wanted those close to know he loved them and made sure to say it every opportunity he got. His beloved wife, Donna, his children, including furry child Frank, and his grandchildren were his whole world. Donna and Stan were true soulmates that built a loving unity from Tennessee to Texas as best friends throughout their 25 years together. Fun fact, the grandchildren who lived in Tennessee called him "Papaw" whereas the grandchildren living in Texas called him "Dappy". He adored his family, his new retirement dream home in Texas, traveling, working on cars, being outdoors, fishing, golfing, was a secret bluegrass lover, and so much more. You could find Stan taking care of his land Bush hogging, taking such pride in his Texas home with Donna. If you knew Stan, you knew the word "particular" and he went hand in hand. He was a calm, responsible soul that everyone would know as not just a good man, but a great man. People would rely on his guidance and kind heart. He built a strong career with FedEx as an Aircraft Mechanic where he learned, mastered and led others to build careers of their own.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sonia Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Donna Hicks; his children

Cory Hicks and wife Tegan, Collin Hicks; wife Hayley, Joshua Hicks; wife Ashley, Scotty Kellam; wife Chienny, Courtnie Croley; husband Jon, Jennifer Taylor; husband Shane, Braly Taylor as well as his grandchildren Karley, Kaitlyn, Kellan, Aviya, Skylar, Jack, Molly, Finn, Charlotte, Rachel, Baileigh, Troy, Isabella, Savannah, Caliope, Alexander, Callum, Payton & Remi.

A funeral service will be held on January 3,2025, at 10:00 AM with public visitation at 9:00 AM at Forest Hill Memorial Park-East located at 2440 Whitten Rd Memphis TN 38133.
