Stanley James Miekicki passed away October 24, 2012 after a long and full life of 92 years. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Walter and Veronika (Chudzinski) Miekicki. He was also predeceased by his wife, Lucille and sister, Jennie Kaminski. Mr. Miekicki graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in chemical engineering. He served in the US Army as a staff sergeant during WWII. After the War he worked at Textile Leather Company in Toledo before moving to Memphis, Tennessee. He has resided in Memphis for the past 59 years. Mr. Miekicki worked at American Finishing Company in Memphis and Gem Incorporated in Byhalia, MS. A lifelong Catholic, he was a communicant of the Church of the Resurrection. He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Sandra Fischl, Stan Miekicki Jr. and wife, Emelia, Claudia Baker and husband, Bob; two grandchildren, Veronika Paschall and husband, Bobby, and Samuel Baker; and four great-grandchildren, Tressa, Michael Stanley, Devon, and Quentin. Visitation will be Sunday, October 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the Church of the Resurrection. Funeral mass will be on Monday, October 29 at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery, 2545 E. Holmes Road.
