Stephen (Steve) Lee Huggins, 70, died at home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was born February 7, 1954, to Freddie Lee Huggins and Jean Huggins Fleming in Memphis, TN. He was a graduate of Frayser High School, Class of 1972. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened.

Steve enjoyed playing golf, but anyone who knew him, knew he was an avid race car fanatic, and his career proved just how much he enjoyed cheering on his customers he referred to as "friends". He was retired from Huggins Cams where he had built a true legacy for his family. He began working in the camshaft business since 1972 with Cam Dynamics. There he oversaw the Production of Camshafts and helped develop and build the oval track program until it was sold in 1982. Steve started his own company, Huggins Cams, in 1983 where he recently retired and sold the company in 2022. He took pride in every cam he created and distributed around the mid-south and country. To know him, you knew he lit up every room with his outgoing personality and always knew how to make people laugh. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Patty Porter Huggins; sons Wes Michael (Sarah) of Marion, Arkansas and Billie Michael of Cape Coral, Florida; his beloved grandchildren (Savanna, Daryn, Reyna and Ty Michael) and great-grandchild (Khalil Michael). He also leaves behind his sister, Sharon Huggins Fish (Gary) and nieces, Amy Carver (Jeremy) and Ashley Murphy.
