She was born on July 16, 1928, to Ollie French-Barrett and William Bayless Barrett in Bolivar, TN. She had two (2) children, Richard Lewis Treadway (deceased) and Susan Carol Turner. She was married Robert Earl Shears. She spent the bulk of her career as an office manager for A&B Variety Store, and retired to spend her retirement years at Snow Lake Shores, the home of her lake house. She was the president of the Credit Women of Memphis Association for a number of years. She was an avid traveler and a master Gardner. She spent most of her free time traveling the world, spending time with her grandkids, playing cards with friends, and working around the lake house.Sue Nell Barrett-Shears is survived by Robert Earl Shears (spouse), Susan Carol Turner (daughter); Christi Diane Turner-Johnson and Jaime Autumn Turner-Rodriguez (granddaughters); Alexander Michael Tooley, Davis Barrett Tooley, Nicholas Bartlett Tooley, Ethan Alejandro Rodriguez and Ella Adriana Rodriguez (great-grandchildren). She was preceded in death by Ollie French-Barrett and William Bayless Barrett (parents); Keylon Barrett (brother), Hazel Laverne Barrett-Goldsmith (sister); and Richard Lewis Treadway (son). Visitation will be Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm and funeral services will be Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Forest Hill Funeral Home-East, 2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133. Interment will immediately follow on site. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue's name to Ashland United Methodist Church 32 2nd St, Ashland, MS 38603.
