Sunshine Cherry Reid, 91, of Horn Lake, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on January 1, 2026.

Sunshine was born at home in Milledgeville, Tennessee. She was athletic in high school and was an accomplished basketball player. In her earlier years, she entered and won numerous beauty contests. She retired from Sears & Roebuck after 25 years of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reid; her daughter, Vicki Lynn Field; her parents, Claude and Grace Cherry; and two sisters, Joy Daniel and Billie Sue Jones.

Sunshine is survived by two daughters, Melba Lee Brown (Charles "Chuck") of Horn Lake, MS, and Cherry Beth Reid of Hernando, MS; one sister, Phyllis Sain of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren, Phillip "PJ" Harber, Jr. (Leslie) of Hernando, MS, and Charles Maurice "Sonny" Brown of Memphis, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Taylor and Grace Lee.
