Suzanne McMaster (February 19, 1949-January 22, 2017) of Walls, MS. passed away Sunday at her residence. She was the only child of Edward and Melba McMaster, who both preceded her in death. She is survived by 5 Aunts: Helen Redd of Como, MS; Corine Baker (Ralph) of Arkabutla, MS; Ester Anderson of Fork WA; June McIntyre of Rentan, WA; Marie Pettigrew of Hughes AR; and one uncle Leo Sanders of Spokane, WA; and a host of loving cousins, co-workers and friends.
She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, where she was once a member of their choir and directed a Hand bell Choir. She was also a gifted pianist and played for many weddings and funerals.
Suzanne began her career with Malone & Hyde grocery wholesalers after graduating from Mississippi State in the early 70''s. The position of staff auditor was where she got her start, but her talents allowed her to move quickly through the company over the many years. At a midpoint in her career, she left Malone & Hyde (Fleming Cos) to return to her roots in auto-parts taking a position with AutoZone (a former Malone & Hyde company) as Director of Financial Systems. She often reflected on working in her father''s auto-parts store as a youth and how life came full circle. During her time with AutoZone, she held various positions continuing her work with financial systems and helping teams succeed. Over a career that spans 40 plus years, Suzanne made great contributions and will be greatly missed by her Malone & Hyde and AutoZone families.
Suzanne loved planning the yearly Christmas get-togethers with her McMaster family and had great fun reminiscing about younger years when she and her cousins all played together at her grandparent''s farm in Flag Lake. She loved talking on the phone with her Sanders'' family and checking on all of them and their families. Both families will greatly miss her and her sweet smile and contagious laugh.
Services for Suzanne will be held, Friday January 27, 2017 at Forest Hill South on Holmes Road. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p. m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill cemetery. Services will be conducted by Bro. Greg Hurt and Bro. Calvin Miller with music by Donnie McMaster. Pall bearers are Joe Carson, Mike Chrisman, Andy Harris, Owen Hodson, Brandon McMaster, Len Pettigrew, and Jimmy Still. Honorary Pall Bearers are: Ralph Baker, Norman Barron, Gary Birchfield, Sherman Hensley, Butch Lance, McCoy McMaster, Tommy Rhodes, and Jim Waggener.
