Sybil Algee Alpuente, 77 of Memphis, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Baptist Hospital. She was born January 16, 1941, in Coldwater, MS the daughter of Leland and Pauline Algee.
Sybil graduated from Independence High School in Independence, MS with the class of 1959. On January 3, 1965 she was united in marriage to James Alpuente of Memphis, in Coldwater, MS. She was a homemaker and in her spare time enjoyed crafts, oil painting, leather work and spending time with her family. Throughout the years she was actively involved in her church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James E. Alpuente of Memphis; two children: Kim (Mitch) Tibbits of Memphis and Mark Alpuente of Memphis; one grandson, John Tibbits of Southaven, MS and one great-grandson, Connor Wilson; two sisters: Sylvia White of Southaven, MS, and Wandra (Phil) Poindexter of Coldwater, MS, as well as one brother, Ray Algee of Memphis, TN and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leland and Pauline Algee, four brothers:
Wayne, Bobby, Dale and Terry Algee, as well as two nephews Kevin and Cody Algee.
The visitation is from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East;
