Syble Louise Fiveash Gray passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Monday, April 8, 2024.

Syble left a mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a unique way of making each person feel special, remembered for her thoughtful tradition of sending cards for every birthday and anniversary. These cards, filled with love and warmth, will be deeply missed.

A matriarch in the truest sense, Syble was blessed with a son, Raymond Harold Fiveash (Denise), two daughters, Carolyn Perkins and Delois Ledford (Bubba) ; 7 grandchildren: Scott Ledford (Deborah), Stephanie Sutton, Toni Ledford, Pat Fiveash, Steve Fiveash (Christy), Nick Perkins (Malia), and Rodney Perkins (Amanda); 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great- granddaughter.

Her soft spoken words of wisdom, strength in maintaining her independence until her final days, and the joy she found in her family will inspire those who knew her.

As we bid farewell to Syble, we also celebrate the incredible legacy of love, kindness, and family she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

Syble was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Savage Fiveash, and her second husband, Sherwood Gray; her daughter Delois Ledford; her granddaughter, Stephanie Sutton; her  parents, William Robert Hamilton Minor and Cynthia Susan "Susie" Anderson Minor; four sisters, Ione James, Beatrice Burnett, Audrey Shelby, and Vaideen Whitehead, also a  granddaughter in-law, Robin Fiveash.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials are sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
