Sylvia Lucille Cardwell was born on November 19, 1935 in Ripley, Mississippi, and went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2019.  She was valedictorian of her high school class. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service.  She was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.  She was a very loving mother, and loved her family.  She had a lengthy illness, and she will be truly missed by all.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Suel Cardwell.  She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Stan Cardwell and his wife, Ling Cardwell, and Don  Cardwell; three grandchildren, Steven and his wife, Tara Cardwell, Michael and wife, Cassie Cardwell and Melissa Cardwell; one son-in-law, Eddie King; and one granddaughter, Logan Cardwell.  She was the oldest of 17 children.  Deceased are Jim Dillard, Jessie Dillard, Johnny Dillard, Bud Dillard, Roy  Dillard, and Joann McDonald.  Her surviving siblings are Willie Dillard, Ricky Dillard, Ralph Dillard, David Dillard, Jerry Dillard, Elsie Ables, Carol Farmer, Sandra Scott, Linda Farley, and Pat Diamond.

The family has requested your presence for visitation on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., all at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park - East.
