Thelma Laverne Thweatt Autry, age 90, loving wife of James  Autry for 69 years went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2025.

She was a loving mother to her only child, Luanne (Rusty) Bailey. She adored her 2 granddaughters, Lauren (Jim) Benton and Rachel (David) Smith. She also adored her 3 great grandchildren, Caleb James Benton, Reagan Grace Smith and Barrett David Smith.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Weeks Thweatt and Evie Naomi Flake Thweatt, a brother, William Edward "Buddy" Thweatt.

She leaves behind 3 sisters, Earnestine (Larry) Rhama, Phillis Rothammer, Deborah (Jackie) Fowler and 2 brothers, Jimmy D (Ellen) Thweatt and Tony Mac Thweatt.

She was born in Wheatley Arkansas on January 19, 1935. She moved to Leachville, Arkansas with her family in 1947 and where she attended Leachville High School. She excelled as an athlete in basketball. After graduation she moved to Memphis, Tennessee where she worked for AT&T. In 1954 she met the Love of her life, James "Jimmy" Autry. They married April 6, 1956. She enjoyed the outdoors and playing Tennis, Basketball and Softball. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
