Thelma Mae Grebe, after a long and successful life, has passed, from this earth, at the age of 99, to join her mom, dad, sister, and brother, in heaven, on August 04, 2022.
She was born September 13, 1922, in her family home, at Lutesville, MO, to parents, Elbert S. Stanley, a railroad man, and Mary Etta Stanley. She was the eldest of 3 children. She was preceded in death, by her sister Mary Evelyn Denman, brother Elbert James Stanley, her husband Byron C. Grebe, and stepsons Gregory Grebe, and Stan Grebe, who were loved as her own children. She was also preceeded in death by her first husband, Clarence L. Castle.

Her first schooling was in a one room school house on her uncles farm, in Missouri. She excelled in school, at all levels, and after graduating high school, in Hot Springs, AR, she attended, and graduated, from Hot Springs Business College. Her first job was as book keeper, and office manager, at a popular Hot Springs Radio station. From there she was office manager, for a business, in Hollywood, CA during WW II, while her husband was there building military aircraft to support the war effort. After the war she returned to Hot Springs, and was a book keeper and office manager, at two businesses there. Then she became the traffic manager at Dierks Forests Inc.. There she met her second husband, who was the head of the research, and development department there. She was also elected State President, of the church guild. In 1971 they moved to Memphis, TN, where she became one of J.C. Penny's best interior decorators in the region, before retiring.
Throughout her life she was commited to supporting her church. She was a caregiver to two husbands, who were in failing health, for years, while working hard to provide an income to support, and raise, her family. But, above all, she was always a devoted wife, caregiver, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She loved tending her garden, to find peace.
