Lexington - THERESA G. KIRKSEY "Terry", 85, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home in Lexington, TN. She was born December 17, 1928 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Verheyen. She was united in marriage to Elvis C. Kirksey on June 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2011. They were married for 60 wonderful years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who was always there for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Terry had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Over the years, she became very involved with the church and assisted with numerous events. She was also a Eucharist Minister for the church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Cathy Robbins of Southaven, MS; Billy Kirksey of Byhalia, MS; Debora Kirksey of Blackton, AR; Faith Neisler of Blackton, AR; Michelle Boucher of Plymouth, MA; Jody Johnson of Lexington, TN; Joseph Kirksey of Lexington, TN; Mary Robertson of Olive Branch, MS; Bobby Kirksey of Blackton, AR; Dawn Orton of Munford, TN; and Susan Reardon of Lexington, TN. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23 at Forest Hill South, 2545 East Holmes Rd., Memphis from 5-8 p.m. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3825 Neely Rd., Memphis, TN. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics of Memphis.
