Thomas Eugene (Tommy) Brewer, Sr. passed away on September 22, 2024 at the age of 96 in Collierville, Tennessee .

Tommy was born March 8, 1928 in Memphis, TN to Mable A. Cagle Brewer and David William Brewer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Dell Brasfield Brewer and brothers William L (Bill) Brewer, and Earl D Brewer, and sisters, Helen Brewer Farris and Rose M Brewer Maddox.

Tommy is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann (Boots) Gregory and his children Thomas Eugene Brewer, Jr. (Teresa), Linda Gail Brewer Kennedy (Jack) and David Keith Brewer (Gloria) and three grandchildren, India Brewer (Philip), Shawn Brewer (Kelsey) and Jarret Brewer and four great grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and other family and friends who will miss him.

Tommy was retired from American Bakeries -Taystee Bread where he worked most of his life as a maintenance mechanic and became Chief Engineer. After retirement, he also worked for Idlewild Presbyterian Church in maintenance. He had a steam and boiler license and enjoyed working on anything mechanical.  He was a master at repair and thinking outside the box. He repaired and maintained many clocks and watches until his death, and he also loved all animals and gardening and family.

Burial is in Forest Hill South Cemetery, 2545 Holmes Road, Memphis, TN 38118 on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 10am.
