Thomas Capps, Jr. 72, of Coldwater, MS formerly of Memphis, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital. Thomas graduated from South Side High School, was an Air Force veteran and a Mason. He retired from the City of Memphis where he worked as a supervisor of the tax collectors and then worked for Coletta''s Restaurant for many years. One thing that he loved was being Santa Claus at Christmas. He went all over in Memphis and Mississippi seeing children. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, Sr. and Elsie Capps and one son, Alan Capps. He leaves his beloved wife, Sandra Capps; one son, Bobby Capps of Olive Branch; two step-sons: Todd Lemmon of Southaven and Jason Lemmon of Coldwater; three sisters: Sandra Honious, Elsie Chrestman and Virginia McGowan; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; also his beloved dog, Abby. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 and service Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill South. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, South.
