THOMAS McILVAIN, 77, died late Thursday, November 13, 2014 from complications following open heart surgery. In August of this year, Tom proudly celebrated 40 years as a salesman for Dabney Hoover Supply, Inc. As a 20-year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, he was active in numerous fund raising projects for St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy, WKNO Public TV and lodge-sponsored Boy Scout Troop 264. An avid sports fan, he loved all sports but his all time favorite sport was baseball. In his early years he was bat boy and mascot for the Memphis Chicks Baseball Club. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Gregory Thomas McIlvain and his brother Timothy McIlvain. Tom leaves his wife of 51 years, Charlotte P. McIlvain; his son, Jeffrey Neal McIlvain; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer McNary McIlvain; and his grandson, Benjamin McIlvain, the absolute light of his life. He also leaves twin sisters, Susie Bradford and Monty Bradford. Visitation will be Monday, November 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 12 Noon on Tuesday, November 18 at Forest Hill East Cemetery.
