Obituary

Thomas W. Moore, 92, of Nashville, TN, passed away March 8, 2019, surrounded by his immediate family.  He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U. S. Navy, and loved God, family, church, and country.  He was born to parents, Samuel and Minnie Moore of Barr, MS on February 13, 1927.  Tommy attended Thyatira High School, where he played on the basketball team. He worked in Supervision and retired from Signal Delivery Service.  Tommy was a faithful member of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ.  Tommy also was on the Board of Directors of Disaster Relief in Nashville, TN, and loved to work with others packing boxes and shipping items to churches in devastated areas.  Tommy was married for 73 years to the girl of his dreams, Frankie Jeanette Crockett Moore, who survives him.  Tommy is also survived by daughter, Sharon Flanagan (Mike), Barry Moore (Lindy), Alan Moore, and Bruce Moore (Schawanna), and sister-in-law, Dean Moore.  He is also survived by grandsons, Bryan Flanagan (Bonnie) and Dr. Kyle Flanagan (Dr. Julianne).  He is also survived by granddaughters, Lindsay Moore, Caitlyn Moore, and Amanda Moore, also with a number of great grandchildren.  Tommy is predeceased by his parents, six sisters, and a brother.  Tommy was known for his love of Jesus Christ, his wife Frankie, his family, and game day at Church.   He loved good food, good conversation, and the game of Rook.  He loved to travel and visited most all of the states. Visitation with his family will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 12:30-2:00 pm, with his funeral service following at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to disasterreliefeffort.org, Nashville, TN or St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
