Thomas David "Tommy" Gilliam, 55, of Lakeland, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House, Collierville, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tommy was a truck driver, lifelong member of Chambers Chapel Methodist Church, loved Barbequing with friends and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas W. Gilliam, survived by his mother Esther Gilliam of Lakeland, sisters Denise Stewart (Dewayne) of Lakeland, Beth McAnulty (Richard) of Knoxville, niece Karen Stewart McCommon (Ryan) of Middleton, nephews Kyle Moody of Lakeland and Bradley Moody of Knoxville. Tommy''s family wishes to thank the outstanding nurses, doctors, care partners, pharmacists and other staff at Baptist Trinity Hospice for the loving care given not only to Tommy, but to them as well. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 5 and service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 6 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chambers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
