Horn Lake - Tommy H. Teer, 81, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2014. He was a member of Glenn''s Chapel Methodist Church where he was active in the men''s fellowship group. He lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He was Past President of Southaven Shrine Club and of Northwest Mississippi Shrine Club. He retired from the VA Hospital after 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and woodworking. He was known throughout the county for his annual "Old Men''s Washer Pitchin Party Contest". Family and friends will miss his "story telling" which most always ended with a joke. He loved it when he "lured you in" to happily deliver his punch line. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Altie Marie Teer, his sister, Patricia Ann Beech, sons, Frank L. Williams, and Thomas Len Williams. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years, Gail Runion Teer; daughters Theresa (Terri) of Fayetteville, NC, Cindy Jo Carroll and son-in-law, Stan Carroll; sister, Betty Prather Hembree of Como, MS; four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren and his best friend of 69 years, William "Billy" Knichel. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5 at Forest Hill South on Holmes Road from 5 - 7 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. August 6 at Forest Hill South with interment in Twin Oaks in Southaven immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103 or St. Jude in Memphis, TN.
