Tressie S. Scott, 82, of Oakwood, TX passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 in Palestine, TX. Visitation only will be Saturday, January 12 from 9-10 a.m. at Forest Hill South. Mrs. Scott was born May 5, 1930 in Saulsbury, TN to parents, Edwin and Tennie May Prewitt Shearin. She had been a Freestone County resident since 1990 and was a retired supervisor with South Central Bell Telephone. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church in Palestine and a past president of the Women''s Auxiliary of VFW Post 3907 in Palestine. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, Horace, Ed, Ben and Parnel and Barry Shearin and sister Thelma; two granddaughters, Vickie Lynn Scott and Tressie Renee Scott. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charles Scott, Sr. of Oakwood, TX; a son, Charles Scott and wife Terri of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Scott of Converse, TX and Eric Jimenez of New Braunfels.
