Obituary

Valetta Mae Hoering Rogers. Born in Webb City, MO on October 22, 1928 to Herman and Eva Hoerning. She had four siblings. Valetta attended Webb City High School. She was Queen of the year book, a Rainbow Girl, Eastern Star, member of Beta Sigma Phi business sorority and a book club when she was young. Valetta met Marvin Earle Rogers at a dance at the Peabody Skyway, they married on May 14, 1955. They were blessed with three children: Michelle Elise Rogers, Merrill Ellen Rogers and Michael Evan RogersÍ two grandchildren Hannah Isabel and Joseph Benjamin Lucey. Valetta worked throughout her life at: Grace Chemical, Leader Federal Bank, a florist, Grace St. Luke''s Episcopal Church and Asbury United Methodist Church. She loved cats and rescued several and was a member of the SPCA. Valetta is survived by her children and grandchildren, along with her niece Jan Waldie in City and other family members. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, the SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or the choice of the donor. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 Tuesday, October 27 at Forest Hill Funeral Home, Midtown with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
