Mrs.Venita Porter Brown of Memphis passed away, Monday, February 17, 2020, after a prolonged illness. She was born August 8, 1924, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late John Robert Porter and Florence (Kitty) Brown Porter. She was united in marriage to the late Raymond Lee Brown on January 26, 1947. Mrs. Brown loved to sew and crochet, sharing with her granddaughters the craft. She was a 40-year Breast Cancer Survivor and was an active member of Trinity Reformed Baptist, Bartlett, TN. The greatest loves of her life were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons, Steve Brown (Kathy) of Memphis, TN and Russ Brown (Phyllis) of Selmer, TN. Four grandchildren; Stephanie Diez-Gomez (Hernando), Steven Richard Brown (Tonya), Rachael Dunlap (Greg), and Hunter Brown (Rachel). Nine great-grandchildren, Myka Caldera, Camila Diez-Gomez, Jayden Brown, Ethaen Mitchell, Kohnor Mitchell, Jaycelynn Mitchell, Russell T. Dunlap, Phillip Dunlap, and Carter Brown;  Sisters Harriett Nichols, Christine Nelson, and brother James W. Porter, along with a host of extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Porter. Services will be Saturday, February 29, 2020, with Visitation from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, service at 2:00 PM.  Forest Hill Funeral Home East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN. Pallbearers will be Steve Brown, Russ Brown, Ricky Brown, Hunter Brown, Greg Dunlap and Randy Rose.
