Vergel Lee Barnes, 85, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 28, 2016 surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He is survived by his wife Bettye Rabb Barnes of 63 years, daughters Kathey Barnes Feldmayer, Thersa Barnes Horvath (Mike Horvath) and 5 grandsons and their wives, 1 great grandson; and by his beloved dog, Sassy Ann. Vergel or Papaw as many called him was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all he knew. Vergel retired from Kimberly Clark plant Memphis, TN.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5-7 PM with funeral service to be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 beginning at 10:00 AM, all at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park East, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN
