Virginia Ann Fracchia Trenham was born to Italian immigrant parents, Peter Frank Fracchia and Mamie Gatti Fracchia, on May 08, 1934 at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis, TN. She died at her home, surrounded by her family on June 17, 2023. "Jenny", as she was called by her friends, was married to James Lester Trenham Jr. for many years. They had one daughter, Linda Trenham Hollinger, and five sons, James Lester Trenham III, Peter Mark Trenham, Scott Eugene Trenham, Keith Allen Trenham, and Gregory Perry Trenham. Sadly, all of her sons, except Pete, preceded her in death. Virginia also had two sisters, Zita LaMaster, who lived in Perryton, Texas, and Katherine Morris, who lives in Memphis. Virginia was "Moms" to her 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Virginia graduated from Sacred Hearts High School. She was a devout Catholic and attended mass for many years at The Monastery of St. Claire, which was built in Frayser on land donated by her grandfather, Joseppi Fracchia. The family farm was located adjacent to the Monastery. Virginia worked for Shelby County Government in the office of the Tax Assessor and with the Board of Equalization. After retirement from Shelby County, she worked for Nickey Warehouse. Virginia loved her family. Her house was a home to her children, grandchildren, and all the friends of her children who needed a place to stay. She had a way of letting each one know how special they are and how much she loved them. Although a woman of very modest means, she always remembered to send everyone a birthday card with a few dollars tucked inside. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial gifts be made to The Food Bank of Memphis or Church Health.
