Obituary

Virginia ("Ginny") Annette McCormick Wiggins, 95, was born on June 22, 1930, and entered her eternal home with the Lord on May 31, 2026. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and spent her entire life in Memphis and Germantown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings; and her beloved husband of 71½ years, Robert Keith Wiggins.

She is survived by her three children and their families: Gregory Keith Wiggins (Cathy), Donna Wiggins Brown, and Dawn Wiggins Mason (Johnny). She also leaves six grandchildren: Heather Powers (Mike), Emily Lee, Melissa Williams (Chris), Stewart Vaughn (Semmes), Allison Vaughn, and Daniel Vaughn (Summer); and seven great-grandchildren: Autumn Williams, Lily Williams, Holly Powers, Caleb Powers, Amelia Cline, Ellie Vaughn, and Mary Stewart Vaughn.

Ginny graduated from Southside High School in 1948. After working for a brief time, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She took great pride in being a homemaker and treasured the years spent raising her children. Later, she worked part-time alongside her husband at The Showcase House for approximately 15 years.

Throughout her life, Ginny was deeply involved in the churches she attended, including Boulevard Baptist Church, LaBelle Haven Baptist Church, Bellevue Baptist Church, and Germantown Baptist Church. She faithfully served in many roles and had a special gift for encouraging others. One of her most cherished ministries was her "card ministry." She faithfully sent cards for birthdays, celebrations, and times of difficulty, often including a joke, quote, poem, or Scripture verse. She loved making people laugh and brought joy and encouragement to countless lives.

Ginny enjoyed playing tennis for many years and won several trophies. She and her husband, Rob, shared a love of snow skiing and created many treasured memories together on the slopes. They also enjoyed an annual fall trip to Gatlinburg for many years. Known for their hospitality, Ginny and Rob frequently opened their home to family and friends, creating a place filled with laughter, fellowship, and lasting friendships.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, Tennessee, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Ginny will be remembered as a faithful and devoted wife, mother and friend. She was cheerful in spirit, quick to laughter, generous with encouragement, and deeply rooted in her love for Jesus, which she shared with everyone around her.

"Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
