W.D. "Bill" Blakney, 88, of Dundee, MS died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and REA Express. Mr. Blakney was a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and a member of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Blakney and is survived by his children, Deborah Martin (Jimmie) of Olive Branch, MS, Betty Fryar (Rick) of Collierville, TN and Brian Blakney (Jennifer) of Hernando, MS; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Edward Blakney of Iuka, MS. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Estes Blakney and Kenneth Blakney. Visitation will be 12-2 P.M., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 with services to follow at 2 P.M. at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
