Walter Warren Woolley
Walter Woolley passed away on Tuesday, March 27, at the age of 97. A native of Memphis, TN he spent his last six years in Olive Branch, MS. He worked as a salesman. He said "it makes you feel good to sell something that is needed, it's good for both." He sold cars, furniture, mill products, hardware, books; anything useful or needed. His favorite pastime was fishing. He said "nothing is any more peaceful than on a lake at sunset."
He was a member of the Al Chymia Shrine Organization where he played the cymbals in the brass band. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in February 2003.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Wilma Wilson Woolley, in 2001, and also his wife of 13 years, Agnes Jowers Woolley in 2015. He is survived by a daughter Wendy Alexander and husband Bob, of Olive Branch, MS, two granddaughters, Caroline Covington Skees and husband Taylor of Memphis, TN, Ashley Alexander of Olive Branch, and a son-in-law, Stan Covington of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Annie Woolley of Memphis, and a daughter Wrene Covington of Memphis in 1999.
A Celebration of Walter's life will be held at noon on Monday, April 2, with visitation at 11:00am, at Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis.
