Obituary

Wanda Nichols Farrar passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24th at the age of 88 surrounded by her family .

She loved being a Mom and even up until the very end she was worried about leaving her "babies". She created a loving home for her family and it would be hard to find anyone better at cooking, sewing, gardening, or anything else that kept the hearth warm. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored their Gran. She smiled at even the mention of their names.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years and the father of her children, Jerry Lee Nichols . Also, her parents Fay and Elsie King, her brother , James King , and her sister, Christine Black.

She has a large and loving family who will celebrate her life every day: Her husband, Henry Farrar, her children and their spouses: Margie Nichols Gill and John Gill, Mike and Cindy Nichols, Rhonda Nichols Sinquefield and Danny Sinquefield, David and Anna Nichols. Her grandchildren Jonathan Sinquefield and Victoria Nahas, Joshua and Erin Sinquefield, Joey and Amber Sinquefield, Katherine, Daniel and Molly Nichols and Wyatt Nichols. Her great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Jamison , Hadlee, Webb, Henry, Wade and Sadie. Her brother J.W. King, her sisters , Betty Brackeen and Linda Lancaster , and many nieces and nephews.

Wanda was born and raised in Rutherford, Tennessee . She also lived in Chicago, Illinois, Louisville, Ky and she spent most of her life in Memphis, Tennessee.

She was a woman of strong faith and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee. She was also a long-time member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Memphis and New Hope Baptist Church in Dyer.

A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett on January 15 at 11:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM . A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer, Tennessee at 3:00 PM for family and friends.
