Audrey Wayne Hanks, 89, died November 27, 2023. He was born March 29, 1934 to Mamie and Clyde Hanks. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Forbes Hanks. He is survived by a daughter, Phyllis (Ron) Hansen; a son Steve (Elaine) McCullough; a grandson, John Andrew McCullough; many nieces and nephews, and his best friend James Murphy from Atlanta, GA.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Germantown Plantation Senior Living. Mr. Hanks was so happy to be part of the Germantown Plantation family and thankful for the care given him. He was a kind person whose love for the Lord was present in all he did. We will miss him and that big smile.

Visitation and funeral service will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home, 2440 Whitten Road, Memphis, TN 38133 on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Visitation will be held at 1 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 2 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Mr. Wayne Hanks be sent to Mt. Zion Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30062 or to a charity of donor's choice.
