Wayne B. Houston, 90, of Sardis, MS passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. Mr. Houston was retired from MLG&W. He was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII and also served in the Army in the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Elsie Houston, three brothers: Clyde, E.C. and Fred Houston; two sisters: Billie Bailey and Ethelda Kelly; one son, Terrell Wayne Houston and grandson, Chase Houston Hawks. He leaves his wife, Ethel Houston; 3 children: Carolyn Turner Silman, David Wayne Houston and Sherrye Houston Hawks; grandchildren: John H. Turner, Matthew Wayne Houston, Lauren Tillman and Heather Houston; 9 great-grandchildren. Wayne was loved by many and well known by all in his community. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 at Forest Hill South with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
