Obituary

Wendell Wiley, 78, of Halls, TN died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Tennessee State Veterans' Home in Humboldt, TN. He was born in 1944, on the Tennessee Century Family Farm.

He graduated from Halls High School and attended Memphis State University. During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Operations, on the Aircraft Carrier the U.S.S. Randolph. He often enjoyed photography and writing short stories, essays and poems. A collection of his poems was published in a book titled " Treasures from the Heart". He retired in 2002 from Delta Air Lines after 33 years of service. He co-founded in 2002, "The Caring Heart Ministry for Special Needs Children and Adults". He managed the family farm and provided for his family. He was a faithful member of the Halls Westside Baptist Church. He taught a Bible Study Group and was a devoted member of the adult church choir. He leaves his wife, Annie Jane Wiley, of Halls and his son Robert Bradford Wiley of Memphis, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 12-2p.m. at Forest Hill East Mausoleum with funeral services starting at 2:00p.m.
