Wilford R. Looney passed peacefully on November 14, 2019. Born is Horn Lake, MS to the late Vera and Jessie Looney, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jessie J. Looney and his nephews, Ronnie Looney and James Looney. Wilford served in the US Navy during WWII and in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After serving his country, Wilford served the City of Memphis as a police officer, retiring after 26 years as a lieutenant in 1979. During his life, Wilford enjoyed traveling, painting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind his lovely bride of 54 years, Eva L. Looney, his son, Winfred "Winn" P. Corder, Jr, his daughter-in-law, Stephanie Corder, and his four grandchildren, Beau Corder, Winfred "Trip" P. Corder, III, River Allbritton and Skylen Allbritton, and his nephew, Donnie Looney. Wilford and Eva have been members of Berclair Baptist Church for more than 50 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital or charity of the donor's choice.
