William Henry "Bill" Caldwell, Jr., 83, of Memphis, passed away April 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents William H. Caldwell, Sr. and Dorothy Christie Caldwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Abernathy Caldwell; his children, Billy Caldwell (Gwen), Leanne Olds (Benny), Jimmy Caldwell (Kim) and Michael Caldwell (Sandy). He has six wonderful grandchildren, Grant Caldwell (Lauren), Bart Caldwell (Kacie), Clair Caldwell, Rachel Caldwell, Cameron Caldwell, and Lincoln Caldwell as well as three great- grandchildren, Copeland, Hatcher and Henry Caldwell. Bill was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and graduated from Memphis State, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was a retired agent for American General Life and Accident Insurance. He enjoyed many hobbies including building model cars, airplanes and boats. A lover of golf, he was a volunteer at T.O. Fuller. He especially enjoyed his friends at Gibson''s Donut Shop. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 271 for many years at St. Luke''s United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the Christian Home builder''s class. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Luke''s United Methodist Church, 480 S. Highland. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at St. Luke''s United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hill East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Luke''s United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor''s choice.
