William "Bill" Stanley Hardy, 77, of Bartlett, passed away September 23, 2017 at Baptist Memphis Hospital. Bill was a retired veteran of the Tennessee Air National Guard as well as a retired Captain of the Memphis Police Department after 38 years as well as a retired security officer for Bellevue Baptist Church. Bill was the Potentate of the Al Chymia Shrine Temple 2017, a Mason, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Past Camatzi of the Order of Quetzalcoatl, Member of Royal Order of Jesters, past president of Al Chymia Shrine Hillbilly unit, past president of the Southeastern Shrine Hillbilly Association, member of the Bartlett lodge, member of the Retired Police Officer Association and Fraternal Order of Police as well as being a member of the Church of the Nativity Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his twin children, Helen Kaye and William Joseph Hardy. He is survived by; wife of 52 years, Dorothy Faye (Sparks) Hardy of Bartlett; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cynthia Hardy of Millington; sister, Mary Ann (Chuck) Calhoun of Jackson, TN, grandchildren; Allison M. Hardy, Jacob M. Hardy and Selina King as well as a host of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to; Al Chymia Shrine Transportation Unit or to Catholic Church of the Nativity. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 6-9pm with a Rosary and Masonic service 7pm. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 1pm at Church of the Nativity Catholic Church in Bartlett, TN. Interment to follow at Forest Hill East Memorial Park.
