William "Bill" Clay, 89, of Cordova, TN, passed away on April 2, 2013. He retired from Memphis Light Gas and Water after 36 years and was a member of the Unit Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Scottish Rites and Oakhaven Baptist Church. Mr. Clay served in the US Navy during WWII and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dorothy Clay; daughter, Diana Lynn Clay; sisters, Francis, JoAnn; and a brother, George. Mr. Clay is survived by his loving wife of 60 years whom he married on May 30, 1953, Velma Louise Clay. He is also survived by his sister, Leverne Pierce of Southaven, MS. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with family receiving friends an hour prior and burial following.
