William Craddock Jr., age 79, of Memphis, Tennessee, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on October 9, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. In his final days, he was surrounded by the love, comfort, and presence of his family. Born on July 22, 1947, in Columbus, Mississippi, to the late William Craddock Sr. and Ada Craddock, William’s life was a complex and deeply human journey filled with experiences, challenges, lessons, and moments that shaped the man he became.
For many years, William found purpose, independence, and peace through his career as a professional truck driver. The open road was more than a place of employment; it was where he experienced freedom, adventure, and the opportunity to discover new places. He cherished the quiet moments behind the wheel, the changing scenery, and the countless miles that became a central part of his life’s story.Like many, William traveled a road that was not always smooth. His journey included personal struggles and obstacles, but his story was much greater than any challenge he faced. In the final chapter of his life, something especially meaningful took place as his family came together in love, understanding, compassion, and peace. Those precious, quiet moments of connection and togetherness became a gift that his loved ones will forever treasure.
William leaves to cherish his memory his beloved sister, Frances Bryson (Sammie); his son, Stephon Craddock (Christina); and his three daughters, Paula Clark, Regina Thomas (Sheldon), and Daphine Kennedy (Harold). He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, Triquita (Eric) and Moneke (Michael); his beloved nephew, Kareem (Katherine), his ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, special friend Brenda and a host of loving relatives and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, William Craddock Sr. and Ada Craddock.
The family extends their deepest, heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated caregivers and medical professionals who provided William with exceptional compassion, comfort, and dignity throughout his final days. Your kindness and care will always be remembered.
