Obituary

William Franklin Dubose, son of Marion and Myrtle Dubose was born on July 21, 1926 in Shelby County, Tennessee. His friends and family called him Frank and h e spent most of his life here in the Memphis area.

Frank served his country in the army and was station ed on the Island of Okinawa when Japan surrendered in World War II. He also served in Korea for a total of four years altogether.

Frank was united in marriage to Betty Bethel on 5-2-59 and was happily married for 37 years. They enjoyed raising their daughter Beverly here in Southaven and the Memphis area . T heir home was the place to be for Beverly's friends who hung out there for fun and games. Sometimes they would have as many as thirteen kids at their place. Frank was always a kind and caring person and had the gift of hospitality . He and Betty loved to make everyone feel at home at their place. Frank loved God and his family, and those two things were the most important things in his life.

Frank worked as a pipe fitter most of his life and loved his work. He had followed in the footsteps of his dad who also was a pipe fitter. One of the big jobs he did was plumbing the pipe work for the old Baptist hospital downtown.

He loved building and flying airplanes and doing wood working. He really had the knack and could fix or build anything he set his mind to. Papa as we called him, was always looking for a chance to witness for Christ to anyone he could.

When Betty , his first wife, passed away in 1996 it turned his world upside down until he met A line Springfield, A friend had set them up for a date and they hit it off right fro m the start. Happiness once again returned into his life and like his son-in-law Rusty said, new life entered into him, like a spring chicken. Frank and Ailene were married in 1998 and enjoyed each other's happiness for eighteen years , until she passed away in 2016.

On May 16 , 2022 William Franklin Dubose passed away at Olive Branch, MS. He is survived by his daughter Beverly Timmons, two grandchildren, Nicki Staples and Aaron Thompson and two great grandchildren.

Frank will be missed dearly and will be long and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
