William Theodore Ford Jr., known to many as “Bill,” 78, of Lakeland, Tennessee, passed away on March 31, 2026. He was born on February 1, 1948, in Dyess, Arkansas.
Bill lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, and versatility. Over the years, he pursued many paths, reflecting his strong work ethic and determination. He was the owner of the Hamburger Depot, worked as a Nationwide Insurance agent, served as a finance manager in car sales, and was known by many as a skilled and dependable handyman. No matter the role, he took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany. Over the course of three years of service, he rose to the rank of sergeant, demonstrating leadership and dedication.
Bill will be remembered for his strength, resourcefulness, and the many ways he contributed to the lives of those around him. His legacy is one of perseverance and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Worhorst.
He is survived by his daughter, Lyndsay Joesel (James Joesel, Jr.); his son, Chad Ford (Melinda Ford) ; son, Whitney Ford; his brother, Jerry Ford; his sister, Linda Reynolds; his former wife, Nina Ford; and his beloved grandchildren, William Jacob Ford, Evelyn Joesel, Eleanor Joesel, and James William Joesel, III.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
