William Warren Gardner was called home to be with Jesus on January 24, 2020. Born on January 6, 1930, "Bill" lived a long and happy life, 68 years of which were spent married to the love of his life, Dorothy. Together, Bill and Dorothy raised two daughters and were very active in their church and in the lives of their grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Thetta, all three of his brothers, Don, Charles and Ernie, and his firstborn son, David. Left to cherish his memory are his bride Dorothy, his daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Kevin Haslett and Nancy and Michael Twigg, four granddaughters (Carolina Williams, Maggie Abernathy, Holly Hamby and Lydia Grace Twigg), and five great-grandchildren. Bill will be deeply missed by his family and by many dear friends from the Millington Church of Christ where he served first as a deacon and bus ministry captain and later as an elder for many years. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 2pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home East. Visitation with the family will be 12:30pm-2pm. A brief graveside service will follow the celebration of life, weather permitting.
