Obituary

William Travis Langston, 85, passed away after a long illness surrounded by his family.  He was born May 19, 1933 in Independence, MS to R.C. and Myrtle Langston. Mr. Langston was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War and worked at Lincoln Glass Company and retired after 45 years as a "Glass Glazier".  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret E. Armstrong Langston and they raise five loving children.  Papa(as he was lovingly known) was true handy man if he could think of it he could fix it or do it. Papa and Meme enjoyed refinishing antiques and caring for their beautiful landscaped property.  He loved to sit in the swing he built with Meme and on their screened in porch watching the hummingbirds and raccoons.  He also enjoyed working in his barn with his children and grandchildren.  Papa and Meme were phenomenal cooks and everyone loved coming to their home to visit or hang out.  He was the most loving, kind and generous man!

Also left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Janie Jones and Felicia Cowan and a son, William Travis Langston, Jr. (Cindy), and one brother Buddy Langston.  He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.  Mr. Langston was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Theron Edward Langston and Bruce Wayne Langston also 4 sisters and 4 brothers.  Visitation with his family will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 5:00-7:00 pm with his funeral service on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East on Whitten Road. 901-382-1000
