William Earl Lannom, 88, of Memphis, TN died March 25, 2015. Mr. Lannom was born February 15, 1927. He graduated from Southside High School where he played football and basketball. After graduation in 1944, he joined the Coast Guard as a radio operator. He attended Memphis State majoring in business administration where he was a member of the golf team. He worked for 30 years at Standard Builders Supply where he served many years as president. After leaving Standard Builders, he worked as manager of ABC Supply Co., retiring in 1993. He was a member of Hernando United Methodist Church and long time choir member. Mr. Lannom is preceded in death by his parents, Carney W. and Ella Stevens Lannom; a brother, Jack Lannom and two grandsons, Zachery and Jacob Lannom. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Jean Harness Lannom and their 5 sons, Steve, Scott (Linda), Brad (Cindy), Greg (Courtney) and Danny; 9 Grandchildren, Stacy Lauber (Mark), Randy, Lauren (Scarborough), T.J., Brad Jr. (Maria), Lanier (Kathleen), Lindsay Logan, Madison, Tyler, also 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday March 27th, with service Saturday at 10am at Forest Hill South, and burial in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hernando United Methodist Church or organization of choice.
