William "Billy" Newman, 78, of Memphis, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Jasper Engines in 2006. While he was an avid Nascar fan and catfish lover, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley and one sister, Leatha Jewel. He leaves behind a son, Rickey and a daughter, JoAnne; two granddaughters, Tina and Kristy; four great-grandchildren: Justice, Tristan, Morgan and Gracie; two brothers, Charles and Milton; also, three sisters, Eva Sue, Joyce and Jean. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 31 at Forest Hill East with visitation Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
