William Thomas "Tom" Person, Jr., 75, passed away on Monday, January 22 in Bartlett.

Tom was a well-loved educator for 44 years throughout Shelby County. He taught and served in Administration at several schools, including Millington High School, Kirby High School, and most recently as Asst. Principal at Bartlett High School.  His sense of humor was appreciated by the many colleagues and students that he touched.  Tom's love for music was also evident and well-known in the Memphis-area church choral circles, having either sung in or directed choirs during his lifetime, including St. Louis Catholic Church, Madison Heights United Methodist Church, Independent Presbyterian Church, and Second Presbyterian Church.

Tom was a devoted husband to Katherine "Kackie" Person and a loving father of four to Tommy Person III (Ann), Gina Person Moore (Cliff), Spence Person (Lauren), and Lee Person (Kit).  He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Jenna Belle and Emmalisse Moore, and Zachary and Hannah Person.  He is survived by 2 siblings, Elinor Ulrich (Warren), and Lee Person (Susie) and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

He is predeceased by his parents, Tom Person, Sr. and Dorothy Nickerson Person and brother Spence Person.

The family welcomes visitors Sunday, Jan. 28, from 3-6pm at Forest Hill East Funeral Home on Kirby Whitten.  The memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church at noon on Monday, Jan. 29, preceded by a short visitation at 10:30am.
