William Roland Roberts, "RoRo", 73, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2015, after his short fight with lung cancer. He was born on November 30, 1941 in Memphis, TN. He graduated from Bartlett High School and married his high school sweetheart, Joy Lynne Wilfong Roberts, whom he leaves after 56 years. He began his career at Texgas Equipment and was an entrepreneur in starting and succeeding in his own business, Dealers LP Equipment which he ran with his sons for nearly 40 years, and then retired. He was a member of Raleigh/Bartlett Woods Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Leila Roberts and his brother, Merritt G. Roberts of Memphis. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joy Roberts; brother, Tommy Roberts (Brenda) of Bartlett; four sons, Bill Roberts of Lakeland, TN, Mike Roberts (Cindy) of Cox''s Creek, KY, Todd Roberts (Estelle) of Savannah, TN, Tim Roberts of Horn Lake, MS; and a total of ten grandchildren, Dixie, Georgia, Roland III, John David, Lillian, Adrian, Zach, Mallory, Eric, Nichole; five great- grandchildren; his faithful dog, Dolly; and other close family members, Gay and Dan Manasco, Bill and Julia Wilfong; and many nieces and nephews. "RoRo" will always be remembered for being the patriarch of our family. He was kind, loving, and always giving. Everyone went to him for answers and guidance. He loved music and the joy of singing. Being surrounded by family was his joy. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, employer and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, May 17 and service at 2 p.m. Monday, May 18 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with interment following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bartlett Wood Church of Christ or AGAPE.
